FBISD 1Link Update
Fort Bend ISD wants to make you aware of a change coming to 1Link (powered by ClassLink), FBISD's single sign-on platform.
Recently, ClassLink announced the discontinuation of friendly link support due to updated security features implemented by various web browsers. Due to this action, FBISD will no longer be able to use https://1link.fortbendisd.com as the web address for 1Link access.
Effective May 15, all users must use https://launchpad.classlink.com/fbisd to access 1Link. The new link will continue to offer the same functionality as the deactivated link. Students and staff will still be able to utilize one username and password to access their digital resources and tools including Schoology, Microsoft Teams and Office 365 through 1Link.
All 1Link desktop shortcuts and bookmarks on FBISD district devices have already been redirected to https://launchpad.classlink.com/fbisd. Please be sure to update saved 1Link desktop shortcuts and bookmarks on all personal devices as FBISD cannot make the update on privately owned devices.
For more information about 1Link, please visit www.fortbendisd.com/1link.
Mentors Wanted
Sartartia Middle School is looking for a Few Good Mentors!
We would love any parent or community member to volunteer to be a mentor to one of our students next school year. If you are interested, please contact Ms. Friedel at katherine.friedel@fortbendisd.com.
Immunization Reminders
Attention all 6th Grade Parents! If you have not sent in an updated copy of your student's immunization record, please do so as soon as possible. We are looking for the TDAP and MCV immunizations, and many of our 6th graders may have received these required vaccines! The clinic staff does not work during the summer, and we would love to have your student compliant before the end of 6th grade. Please know, if we do not receive the updated records, your student will not be able to get their schedule or locker during summer jag camp. Please email the record to amy.schepanski@fortbendisd.com or fax to 281-327-6325. As always if you have any questions, feel free to call us at 281-634-6325.
Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the purpose of this month is to reduce the stigma around mental health and create awareness of the different components of mental wellness. If you would like to talk more about any of the topics, please visit your school counselor.
This week we are bringing awareness to mental health by removing toxic influences from our lives. Certain people and situations in life can trigger us to feel badly about ourselves or engage in destructive behaviors. Identifying the toxic influences in our lives and taking steps to create boundaries or a new life without them can improve mental and physical health over time. Click here for more information.
Credit Recovery & Summer School
SMS Library News
All Sartartia library books were due Friday, 5/21. If your child has a book or books checked out after that date, you will receive an email from the library telling you what book or books are overdue and how much the fine will be. Please look everywhere possible for lost library books. The car, gym bag, under the sofa cushions, between the bed and the wall—these are all places that students have found lost books!
If you have looked and looked but cannot locate the book or books, there will be a fine assessed so the item or items can be replaced. There are two ways to make a payment: you can pay online with a debit/credit card via RevTrak, or we will accept exact cash. Checks are not accepted for lost or damaged books. Instructions for online payment are included below, or you can find directions them here.
THANK YOU! Your crucial support keeps our Jag Library program strong!
Summer Learning Opportunities
FBISD Summer Learning Letter to Parents
Dear Parent & Guardians,
Your child has worked very hard this year despite some unusual circumstances due to the pandemic. Thanks for your support in making this happen! In order to maintain this progress, it is important for them to continue reading and practicing math throughout the summer.
Research shows that children lose significant knowledge in reading and math over the summer months. Please review the attached document to review ideas and resources that will help ensure your child continues to grow academically this summer.
High School Info
Austin HS Summer Strength & Conditioning Camp
The strength and conditioning camp was formed to assist student athletes in preparing for the upcoming athletic seasons for the 2021-22 school year. While at the camp, students will be instructed by FBISD Coaches in strength training, conditioning, agility drills, and fitness related skills. We strongly encourage attending the camp to better prepare and give our SMS athletes a competitive edge on our competition.
