iPad Apps for Augmentation and Applying & ReadWorks.org - Reading Comprehension passages
iPad apps for Augmentation and Applying Levels of Learning and Sharing Learning
There are many iPad apps out there that you can use with your class to reach the Applying level of Bloom's Taxonomy and the Augmentation level of the SAMR model of technology integration.
At the "Application" level students are adapting, applying, calculating, changing, illustrating, listing, showing, teaching and solving. At the Augmentation level of tech integration, students are completing fairly traditional learning tasks, but the technology tools they are using help to make communicating their learning easier.
For a few more iPad app suggestions, be sure to check out the article on Edutopia by Diane Darrow "K-5 iPad Apps for Applying (Bloom's Revised Taxonomy, Part 3)".
Check out apps below that you could get started using today.

iPrompt Pro - Demonstrate Fluency
This teleprompter app allows teachers to insert text, and then students can practice their fluency by reading the scrolling words. Would be great for center or independent practice, and it would help meet CCSS RF.4. You could also use it as an intended teleprompter for students giving speeches or for made projects that require students to film themselves reading a script.
Check out this blog entry "Common Core Spotlight: Reading Fluency with iPrompt Pro" for more information.

Skitch - Explain & Illustrate
Students can use Skitch as either a whiteboard app or as an annotation tool. When you open Skitch, scroll through the menu at the bottom of the screen that starts with camera. You can choose to capture an image from the photo reel, camera, map, web page, pdf, draw (which is the whiteboard piece). Then use the annotation tools - arrows, typing, stickers to show what you know.

Keynote - Teach, Practice, and Produce
Keynote is a presentation software that comes standard on new iPads. Students can create PowerPoint style presentations that include images and videos to share their own learning right on the iPad using Keynote. In addition to the traditional ways you can use Keynote, check out this blog entry for examples like creating flashcards and word lists "5 Ways to Use Keynote for the iPads in your Classroom".
