Benjamin Franklin
The Most Frank Man There Was
The Man, The Myth, The Legend
Benjamin Franklin was born in 1706 and got his start in a family of 19. They were candle and soap makers. He quit his schooling at age 10 and worked full time at his fathers shop, but by the age 12 he was apprenticed to his brother James's printing shop. By the age 17 he ran away from his apprentice job after years of abuse to the city of Philadelphia. After working as a printer in Philly, in late 1724 he left for London. While in London he had to find work but he took advantage of all London had to offer. He ended up returning back to Philadelphia in 1726 where his business became very successful producing pamphlets and booklets. He created the Poor Richards Almanac and also bought the Pennsylvania Gazette. He fought for his country and never stopped striving for freedom.
