Media Center News
Starting today, Friday, September 30th, library reports for missing books will be sent home. It will help you stay aware of what books your child may need to find. There are often questions over missing books and many times they are at school in students' desks. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns over a book please write them on the form and return it to school with your child. Reports will be sent home every Friday regardless of what day your child comes to the media center. Thanks for helping to keep our library running smoothly!
Notes from our Nurse
Vision and hearing screening will be next week October 3, 5 and 7th. If your child wears glasses, please remind your student to wear their glasses to school.
Remember if your student has been ill. Students may return to school after 24 hours without fever, vomiting or diarrhea. Illness guidelines are listed on our school district website at http://www.sycamoreschools.org/Page/2308
New or gently used clothing are welcomed for our school community. Often times students need extra change of clothing for spilled lunch, recess puddles or other mishaps.
Food donations unopened and not expired are also welcomed. Please remember when making donations to check for expiration dates and packaging is intact.
Sycamore Community School District is looking for Substitute Nurses. Beach Bash Fundraiser Fun
Children and their families enjoyed dancing, basket raffles, delicious food and a fun beach photo booth.
Thank you to all who attended and who have supported this cause!
Mrs. Combs told the boys and girls that for supporting Mrs. J and Mr. R, they could each help to tape her to the gym wall with duct tape....sounds like a good trade, right?
Well.....the students did a great job supporting this cause, so on Monday, each student got a chance to help tape her to the gym wall. It was a lot of fun for everyone, and Mrs. Combs enjoyed hanging around the gym for a while!
If families within our community would still like to donate, simply send to our office and we will add it to our growing total.

Calling all night owls!
October is upon us and that means Haunted Fest! Please join the Night Owls on Thurs, 10/6/16 at 7:30 at BAE. This meeting is all about decorating the school for Haunted Fest. Please bring a glue gun, tape and/or a step ladder if you can.
The Night Owls group is a great way to meet other parents while helping out our school. No experience is necessary and new members are always welcome!
Can’t make the 10/6 meeting? No problem. We meet again on Tues, 10/18/2016 at 7:30 pm at BAE for more decorating fun.
Vision and Hearing sign up
Every year BAE hold vision and hearing screenings for the children. This year children in kindergarten, first grade, 3rd grade and all new students to the district will have their vision and hearing tested. Screenings will be on October 3rd, October 5th and October 7th. The times are 9:30-11:30 and 1-3 each day. Volunteers will help escort children to and from class, wait with the children to go into the testing room, and to help the children move from one room to another. The screenings are held in the UC Blue Ash wing. This is a great way to volunteer and to meet other parents. To volunteer, please follow the link below. Thank you!
