ILLINOIS SCHOOL REPORT CARD
The Illinois School Report Card designations were made public on October 27, 2022. Both Golf Middle School and Hynes Elementary School have been rated Commendable and we are closing the gaps within our subgroups. ISBE recommends using the 2022 data as baseline, since there were substantial changes to the performance indicators. We are proud of how our students and staff are working and will use appropriate information to help with instruction.
HYNES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
PRESCHOOL
The Preschoolers have been having so much fun over the last few weeks learning about all things Fall! We read many books that helped us learn about the changes that occur outside in nature and how many foods are harvested in the Fall.
In Science, we completed pumpkin investigations by opening them up and learning about the different parts. We spent a lot of time participating in dramatic play scenarios by having our own classroom Apple Orchard and Pumpkin Patch. In these centers, we are able to practice assuming different roles such as customer, cashier, and baker; working together; taking turns; and communicating verbally. We were also able to integrate math skills such as counting and sorting into these play scenarios.
1ST GRADE
First graders were able to practice picking up food with two different "beaks" to see which type of beak was better for picking food in between rocks and picking up a lot of food at once. Students used both a warbler beak and duck beak.
4th GRADE
The Cook County Department of Agriculture came to Mrs. Petrash's class so students could learn about Illinois' agriculture economy, transportation, careers and technologies.
2022 READ-A-THON
HALLOWEEN 2022
GOLF MIDDLE SCHOOL
Pull Toy Parade
The pull toy parade was the culmination of the PLtW Vex unit with the 7th grade Innovations students.
The objective of the pull toy design challenge was to create a thematic pull toy whereby the motion and energy of wheels transfers through a system of gears they design and build from scratch!
