"Making the Most of Your College Application Essay" with Dr. Matt Nelson offers practical advice for drafting and revising this important piece of writing. Great for parents and students. (30 minutes)
"Creating a College-Going Culture" with Dr. Meredith Love examines case studies about South Carolina schools who are implementing programs, courses, and events to promote college readiness on their campuses, asks participants to evaluate the effectiveness of programs/initiatives in place on their campuses, and helps with the creation of an action plan for creating a college-going culture. Designed for middle- and high-school instructors and administrators. (45 minutes)
"Introduction to Project Based Learning" with Dr. Meredith Love. In this webinar, you will be introduced to the basics of project-based learning, focusing on how to create projects that increase student engagement, understanding of content, and development of success skills. After discussing the elements of design and watching videos that demonstrate project-based teaching, you will be able to begin designing your own project. (120 minutes)
"When School Isn't in School" is designed for upper elementary, middle, high school, and higher ed instructors who want to support students in their online learning. Drawing from research on student success, we focus on classroom activities that teach persistence, time management, and professional communication–all skills that can support a successful online learning experience. (45 minutes)

School District Website and Electronic Document Training | IMPORTANT!!!!
The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) and the United States Department of Education-Office for Civil Rights (USDOE-OCR) is offering a live virtual training series on how school districts can make their websites and electronic documents accessible. This monthly training will occur from August through October 2021 from 3:00–4:00 p.m. The training is at no cost to districts. Participants can earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

SMART PD
All sessions will focus on using the interactive display, including the recent updates such as ink-to-text and the ability to give students simultaneous feedback during lessons directly from the Whiteboard app. All sessions will last 60 minutes and will take place virtually (over Zoom) as to not disrupt the regular school day.
Our second round of training sessions, "Review and learn what's new in iQ", is recommended for ALL HIGH SCHOOL teachers. These sessions will be focused on instructional best practices and ways to use the interactive display to enable student engagement, collaboration, and authentic assessment.

FREE ETV Technology Training - the staff at ETV trains over 3,000 SC teachers at their locations every school year. They will work with teachers during their planning periods, after school or on in-service days. ETV's trainers specialize in web tools, iPads and Google as well as all of the wonderful ETV resources.
