Improving Instruction for Students with Disabilities
Purpose of NCSIP
The purpose of the North Carolina State Improvement Project is to improve the quality of instruction for students with disabilities through research, supported personnel development, and on site technical assistance for the public schools and university teacher education programs.

Goals for NCSIP
Reading and Math
The goal of NCSIP is to improve the basic skills performance of students with disabilities in the area of reading and math, through the use of research based programs.
Support for Teachers
Another goal of NCSIP is to provide teachers with support and sound instructional practices as well as
increase the percentage of qualified teachers for students with disabilities.
Parent Involvement
NCSIP also would like to increase parent satisfaction and involvement with, and support of school services for students with disabilities.
