Duck Duck Moose
Many of you have used the Chatterpix Kids app in the past. I just recently discovered the sister app Draw and Tell. With Draw and Tell, students can create scenes using pictures, stickers, and original drawings to annotate and explain. You are able to combine multiple scenes to create longer screencasts. This app makes it easy for students to create animated screencasts - try it out for video tutorials, storytelling, explain your thinking, response to literature and more. Check out Free Technology for Teachers for a more detailed review. Duck Duck Moose has now partnered with Khan Academy, making all 21 apps FREE! If Chatterpix and Draw and Tell are any indication, then the others are worth exploring.
Editable PDFs using Word 2016
The Office 2016 rollout hasn't been a cake walk, but here's one lifehack that makes it worthwhile! Using Word 2016 you are able to convert a pdf to a Word file in order to make changes. David Miller (ITS at Otwell MS) has created this helpful tutorial to walk you through the steps. You're welcome.
Twist on Flipped Classroom
Shout-out to Kindergarten for creating video tidbits to help parents better help their kids at home. Kindergarten posted videos in their itslearning planners to review phonics terminology and give examples for each type of sound. This is a great way to extend the home-school connection!
