A-Team Updates
8/21/18
Thank You!
In case you missed it, I've included Missy's information below:
- Livebinder (Password: basic)
Missy is willing to come back to the school (for free) and work with teachers who volunteer to get additional supports in their classrooms. I will be emailing all district teachers about this next week.
New Business
- General Education teachers who are providing gifted services in their classroom need 60 hours of training over the course of 4 years. This lowers the yearly requirement from 30 contact hours per year to 15 contact hours per year.
- Those teachers who are instructors of Advanced Placement Courses and who have successfully completed the 24 hours of AP training will only require 7.5 hours of gifted training each calendar year.
While many of our teachers have already met or exceeded the goals for the Highly Qualified Professional Development (HQPD) requirement, we will continue to offer gifted training and support to our cluster teachers to increase awareness and address the needs of all of our students.
Old Business / Reminders
- You should have received an email from David Trichel with your access information for the video series. If you haven't yet, now is the time to start listening to a video a day in preparation for our beginning A-Team conversation next Wednesday.
RTI Coaches (8/30 3:45-4:45; 9/19-20)
- Make sure you and your people submit the request for the Searle Conference ASAP. I've included the text from that email below, in case you need it. I am missing Kevin, Sue Abraham, Anita Barnhart, Mike Davis, and Brendan. I've included the original email below with instructions.
