I always know that Desiree will be ready for class. Not only will she have assignments read and completed, but she will know specific details that even I miss! I trust that she will participate in class and do what is assigned to her.--Dawn Wilking

Sophomores - American History News
Some American History students will be taking a field trip to the National WWI Museum & Truman Presidential Library in Independence, MO. This corresponds with our study of American Imperialism & the First World War as we wrap up the semester.
Another classroom "activity" that American History is planning on doing is a study of the alliance systems that contributed to the outbreak of a worldwide conflict. Students will pass around two balls of yarn, as a story is read to them. The yarn represents the alliance system, and the story discusses how one significant event could cause the various alliances to take action.

Scheduling Update
We are reaching the end of schedule entry for students in grades 9-11. If your student was absent during any part of this process, we will be pulling students for makeups soon after December 4. Students should have reviewed a white ICAP (Individual Career and Academic Plan) with you throughout this process. Once you have reviewed this with your student, please sign and return to the school. A notification will be sent when requests are available to be seen online.
For more information on student scheduling, please visit the WHS School Counseling site.
