Crestview School News
March 11th ~ OAESA Hall of Fame School
Dear Crestview Families,
This month and next, our focus Journey of a Blue Devil competency will be on Critical Thinking. Students will be discussing and talking about what this means and looks like for them in and out of the classroom. So far this year, students have learned about Empathy, Adaptability, and Responsibility. We will incorporate this skill in our house meetings coming up as well.

3rd-5th Grade Ohio State Test
Ohio State Testing (OST) for third, fourth and fifth graders will begin on Wednesday, April 17th. These assessments measure how well students are progressing in gaining the knowledge and skills within the Ohio’s Learning Standards. The data yielded from these assessments help guide and strengthen future teaching. Furthermore, by teaching our students to apply these skills to what they are learning in school, we can make sure they are on track to graduate from high school and enjoy success in college, careers and life. Students Grades 3rd - 5th will take assessments in ELA (English/Language Arts) and Math. In addition, students in 5th Grade will take a Science Test Click HERE to access online practice tests. Debbie Hopkins Memorial Run (Link)
Debbie Hopkins was a dedicated and admired teacher for over 30 years; most of those years was in the Brunswick City School District at Crestview Elementary.
She was active in sports, coached cheerleading, was an advisor for extracurricular student clubs and community service activities and organized many special school events. She created a student-centered learning environment that was not only warm and loving but focused on valuable life lessons. Debbie’s heart was committed to her students, their growth, and success. Former students often said she touched their lies and/or was their favorite teacher.
Debbie passed away in June 2020. Debbie’s husband, Dale, created Passionate Educators, Inc. to honor the legacy of his late wife and to continue making positive impacts on other current and future extraordinary educators.
