SACBS Bulldogs Beat

Message from Mrs. Runnels
Dear Bulldog Families,
Can you believe that we've completed our 2nd week of school already? We had a beautiful week and everyone's learning the procedures so well. Thank you for all of the support that you give to our wonderful school.
One of our main modes of communication is through "Admin Notify" which is from our Student Information System. When you registered, your information was put into this system. Please ensure that the school has your current phone number and email address that you check frequently, so that you can receive the texts, phone calls, and e-mails from the school. A form is included in this newsletter to add family members and friends to receive information also.
Also, make sure that you are signed up for REMIND with your child's class(es), sports, and clubs. This is one way to ensure that you don't miss any last minute changes or updates. If you're not sure, you can always go to our school website: www.sacbstx.org or click on this link that says Stay Connected on Remind.
It is so important for all of us to use compassion as we work collaboratively together and communicate, so that our children can get the best benefits possible. Sometimes it may take a bit more effort and patience, but the end result is always well worth it. As a reminder, if you have any questions or concerns with something going on with your child's class, the teacher is the first person to contact. They will be able to answer and clarify any concerns you may have.
Every week, I will remind you about our theme and character trait so that it becomes a part of who we are. Theme: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart." Colossians 3:23 Our character trait for this year is "Compassion". Compassion means showing kindness and empathy to others. Let us focus on showing compassion to everyone we encounter, as we strive to be more like Christ. May God continue to bless you and your families. Thank you for choosing St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School!
Yours in Christ,
Felicia Runnels, M.Ed.
Your Principal

COVID Information
- With one of the phone calls this week, a few parents were wondering about close contacts. They wondered if child #1 in their household was considered a close contact, why wasn't child #2 from a different grade also a close contact and having to quarantine? I checked with Mr. Coleman at the Beaumont Health Department. He said that once child #1 is a close contact they should quarantine and wear a mask, even at home, and try to stay in a separate area from child #2 and family members. This way, child #2 would not have to quarantine unless they started showing symptoms or someone in the house tests positive.
- FYI - Bishop Toups is strongly encouraging our families to wear masks at school. He is also strongly encouraging those who are eligible to get the vaccination. I am happy to say that 75% of our students, teachers, and staff have been wearing masks. With cold and flu season quickly approaching, it can also help keep the sneezes from spraying multiple people.
