Family Hang-Time
Happy Spring, Lighthouse Grown-Ups!!!
The sun has been shining, the birds singing and hopefully you’re finding time for some Vitamin D! Palm Sunday and Easter were festive and beautiful with your amazing kids. We hope you enjoyed the Palm Parade, the Easter Egg Hunt (and Dino O’Dell tunes) and our incredible Easter services in the sanctuary. What an awesome reminder of our ultimate HOPE!!!
We absolutely love those holidays and events that give us the gift of time with your families. I mean, we LOVE your sweet kids, but we also cherish getting to know YOU grown-ups! And we have a couple more opportunities coming up that we think you’ll enjoy! (That’s code for, “Come hang with us!!!”)
Art and Hors d’oeuvres (for the record, I have to look up how to spell that word every time) is an AWESOME FAMILY EVENT Friday, May 3rd, `5:00-7:00. We will have Lighthouse art displayed and fun family games and popcorn in our neck of the woods. Village Preschool and Child Care have an art show/open house downstairs and we have a huge display of local artists (complete with a bunch of fun snacks) in the Welcome Center and Friendship Hall. And don’t miss the SCAVENGER HUNT for kids that will keep them hopping and popping and entertained while you grown-ups check out the art!
And this summer, come to Family VBS! It runs three Wednesday evenings and both campuses (Prairie Village & Overland Park) are combining to feature an intergenerational Vacation Bible School (VBS) this summer designed for the entire family—parents, grandparents, little kids and big kids alike! We’ll have learning, games, fun and food for the whole family. Dinner will be provided for all. VBS will be three Wednesday evenings this summer: June 12, 19 and 26.
We will provide tangible, immersive family experiences with three local non-profits—one each Wednesday. We will explore what it means to love God’s people and how we might widen our wingspan in our efforts. It’s going to be a blast, and incredibly meaningful.
Hope to see you there!!!
Blessings to you and your sweet kiddos!
