The art team has met and will be finalizing a schedule for the new art curriculum. We will have a meeting next week on October 2nd after school to share the curriculum, the schedule, and how we will implement it. Please plan accordingly.
This Friday, we will use the 11:30 schedule with exception. Lunches will run differently. Since students will be leaving at 12:30, we will be going to lunch according to the following schedule: K-2: 11:00; 3-5: 11:20; 6-8: 11:50. All students will stay outside for recess following their lunch and dismissed for the busses from there if weather permits. If there is inclement weather, K-2 will return to the classrooms at 11:30; 3-5 will return to the classrooms at 12:00, and jr. high will be dismissed from lunch.
The joint committee has approved a change in the professional development plans used this year. This will be the new plan that will take the place of your SMART Goal. This plan does not have to be completed on the computer, but certainly can be if you choose to do so. I will place a copy of the plan in your mailboxes today and add the link to the digital form to the teacher resource page of the website.
The scoring for this element of the performance evaluation will be as follows:
All 3 components planned and completed: 4 - Excellent
2 components planned and completed: 3 - Proficient
1 component planned and completed: 2 - Needs Improvement
No planning or completion of goals: 1 - Unsatisfactory
Once a plan is approved by me, the plan can still be edited throughout the year with a scheduled meeting with me to discuss changes. Please schedule a time to go over your plan as soon as you complete it. If you need help finding trainings, cooperating teachers and schools for collaboration, professional books, etc. please just let me know and I will help out in whatever way I can. I recommend finding a partner for at least one or two elements of your plan. Professional development is generally more enjoyable when you do it with someone else.
Please come by and talk to me if you have any questions or concerns about this professional development plan. I think you will all prefer it to the old SMART Goal form.
