Revolutions

American Revolution
The main people who revolted were the colonists, however, there were many groups involved in this revolution. There were the Loyalists; they were the group that supported the British. Then the Patriots, they supported the colonists. Also, there were the Red Coats; they were Britain’s "army" that fought for them. The colonists were mad because they wanted to be left alone from the British, they didn't want anything to do with them, and they wanted to run them selves. They were mad that the British were taxing them since they were apart of there own land. They didn't mind having a king and an army to protect them; they just didn't want to be under Great Britain’s control. When Britain was in debt by the French and Indian war and rose taxes and only the Colonists questioned it and the British ignored them.
How did they Revolt?
Everybody was using chaos to win, but also there were peace acts involved and the Declaration of Independence. When colonists were protesting, it got bad and this violence lead to the Boston Massacre. Then there was the Boston Tea Party where Indians on the colonist’s sides dumped moneys worth of tea down in Boston. Then British solders fired shots, which lead to the Revolutionary War. Then through out the war and after there were more signings and the treaty of Paris, which sealed everything together.

The Patriots
How Revolutionary was this?
In my opinion, it wasn't that revolutionary as the French Revolution or another good example would be the Haitian Revolution. This revolution didn't impact anything around the US. They did what the British did to them, but only there power changed. The colonists killed many Native Americans and treated them badly like the Britain’s did to them. So overall, it wasn't to revolutionary because it didn't impact anything around the US, just inside US, also they didn't change much from Britain, the only thing that changed was that they had different power. The colonists also treated the Native Americans badly like the Britain’s did to them.
What would I grade this?
French Revolution
The bigger group was the French population. There were also many other Political groups that were involved. The reason why they revolted was because there country was in debt, there agriculture was bad and there industries were bad. This is because how much money they put in to help the Americans in the war for Independence. They thought that the king was doing a bad job and they wanted to hold their own constitution or government under their rules.
How did they revolt
The lower class French citizens revolted by trying to create their own constitution, which lasted short and it made other people mad. It said that every man except slaves and women were equal and has the right to liberty, property, and security, which then soon fell. Then King Louise invaded Austria which then was on there side for a little leading to people wanting a new republic which then out ruled King Louise leading his head to be chopped off. Then Napoleon came in and set everything back to normal and become the new emperor. This lead to this revolution being normal in debt at first, then to a blood bath, then back to normal with Napoleon in charge.

How Revolutionary Was This?
In my opinion, if you really look into it, it had an impact on the ideas of revolution or a new constitution. It didn't change much in the Country of France, but it impacted the idea of a new constitution. They had an idea were laws come from citizens and not from Kings or Gods and these laws should be applied to everybody equally. The French Revolution asked new questions about the nature of peoples rights and the derivation of those rights. So really, it brought a new question and idea around everyone else that what is a good constitution and that people should be equal and laws should come from the people instead of the king or god.
What would I grade this?
I would give this an A- because, it didn't affect its self as much, but it affected everything around them and their idea on a constitution. This is why I give it an A- because it meets these standards, but I give the minus because it didn't really impact its self as much as it should have.
Haitian Revolution
Mainly the slaves revolted in the Haitian Revolution, they revolted because they didn't want to be slaves anymore. They were made that they were always slaves no matter what people tried to do. They stood up for the weak when no body else could and that was there goal. The people who revolted were the African Americans of Haiti and people involved were Napoleon, France, and Britain.
How did they revolt?
They revolted by standing up for their selves and fighting the fight that could be won. It mainly started out with a rumor saying they were free by King Louise XVI but that was wrong. Then France stated that they were free except they don't have as equal rights. Then they were slaves again, but then they refused, which lead them to be partially free again. Then Napoleon’s brother came along and tried to enslave them again which lead to an uprising and this lead to them winning against Napoleon and becoming the 3rd best revolution that had happen.
How Revolutionary Was This?
To be honest I thought this was very revolutionary. I say this because matter because they stood up for the idea that none should be slaves, that the people who most need the protection of a government should be afforded that protection. They stood up for the weak when the rest of the world failed to. They were revolutionary because they were the first uprising African American Revolution that actually benefited them to becoming there own revolution.
What would I grade this?
I would give this an A because of what their idea was and how they succeeded that idea. Like I said before, they stood up for the idea that none should be slaves, that the people who most need the protection of a government should be afforded that protection. They stood up for the weak when the rest of the world failed to. They were revolutionary because they were the first uprising African American Revolution that actually benefited them to becoming there own revolution. This is why I think they get an A because when they stood up for abolishing slavery, they actually did and up rose to that.
