The First Phone call
Alexander Bell, the creator of the telephone, made the first phone call to his assistant Thomas Watson on March 10th, 1876. He said, "Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you."
The Inventor
Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. Remarkably, he only worked on his invention because he misunderstood a technical work he had read in German. His misunderstanding ultimately led to his discovery of how speech could be transmitted electrically.
Why the telephone?
Bell wanted to create a "speaking telegraph" and wanted to imitate nature. His thought process was how much easier it would be to send messages and notify others without delay. The experiment that Bell was attempting went wrong, ultimately creating the most popular invention even in today's society.
With the great idea came a great price. Another gentleman liked the idea of the telephone and had thrown around ideas about the telephone but had never gotten it to work. When Bell created the first working telephone he then had to fend off at least 600 lawsuits before he could call himself the inventor of the telephone.

Where?
The telephone can be found through the American Telephone & Telegraph company. More commonly known today as AT&T.
