Principal Corner
Dear Smith Stallions,
We have had a great start to our NWEA MAP Testing this week. We will continue MAP Testing next week in Kindergarten through 5th grade. It is very important that your child is at school each day and on time to be ready to begin testing each morning. We are so proud of how hard the students have worked and we know they will show that same perseverance and determination next week. SMITH STALLIONS ROCK!
IMPORTANT REMINDERS AND UPCOMING EVENTS:
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Virtual Student Involved and Student Led Conferences Coming Soon! The students are looking forward to sharing their learning with their parents and families. Conferences will take place Monday, September 27th through Thursday, September 30th.
INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY! Wednesday, September 15th. Your child has created a piece of art to commemorate International Dot Day during Art this week. Their work will be displayed in our front hallway on Wednesday! We will also be celebrating this day by wearing Polka Dots next Wednesday, September 15th. Have your child be as creative as they want to be to celebrate this fun day!
Breakfast is served each morning in the cafeteria from 7:15 a.m. until 7:40 a.m. If your child would like to eat breakfast when they arrive at school, they need to be at school by 7:35 a.m. so that they can go to the cafeteria to eat breakfast.
If your child is a car rider in the afternoon, you will need to have a car tag with your student’s number on it. If you do not have a numbered car tag, please call the office at 479-750-8846 and we will make sure we get a tag made for afternoon pickup. If you do not have a number when you pick up your child, you will need to park and wait for the line to clear. This will be at approximately 3:20. Please work with your child on practicing to buckle and unbuckle themselves. We also ask that you not get out of your vehicle. We will assist your child if needed.
Please remember to send your child to school each morning with a mask. All students Kindergarten - 5th grade are required to wear a mask while inside the building with the exception of breakfast and lunch. Thank you for sending a mask with your child each day.
STUDENT INFORMATION SHEETS: Please return the information sheets if you have not returned already.
Please label your child’s belongings such as lunchboxes, jackets, water bottles, etc. If an item is labeled, we will be able to return it to your child in their classroom. Our Lost and Found is growing.
