Family Bulletin
Good evening, Evergreen families!
We had a great week here at Evergreen! We had an outstanding Wildcat Assembly today celebrating students in each grade level for their reading accomplishments and recognizing others for their modeling of “integrity” in their classrooms. We will continue to read fast and furiously to fill up the reading trackers for the “Dig Your Claws into Reading” grade level drawings for pizza coupons and books for next month! This has been an exciting competition that provides rewards for students diligently reading during their independent reading time at school.
Starting on Monday our third-grade students will begin taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment. We will be testing this week on Monday through Wednesday. Please ensure your student is present at school and well rested.
Our spring picture day is Tuesday, April 30! Information was sent home last Friday with your student if you would like to order them.
It is time for track season! Track will begin on Thursday, May 2nd for 3rd and 4th grade students who have their permission slips turned in. Permission slips are available in the office. Track practices will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, once they begin on May 2nd.
Evergreen will be celebrating Children’s Day on May 3rd! We are in need of donations of empty pinatas and bags of individually wrapped, nut free, candy for our celebration. If you are able to donate, please drop them off in the main office at our school.
If you would like to volunteer for Children’s Day or help decorate after school on May 2nd, please contact our main office. A volunteer packet must be completed and processed a week prior to the event if you plan to volunteer.
I am excited to announce this Friday is our Children’s Day Celebration!!! This is a wonderful day full of fun and excitement! We will have a Mariachi Band, sponsored by our PTSO, performing for all our students!
Ms. Dawson and Ms. Francisco’s second grade classes will be participating in swimming on Thursday and Friday so please remember to send their swimming items with them to school.
Kindergarten open enrollment is open. If you have a student coming into kindergarten, please get them enrolled.
If you received an invite to summer school at your conference and are interested, please return the application to the school as soon as possible.
Thank you for being a partner with us in your students' learning! Have a wonderful “Wildcat” weekend!!
