Kent State was a Mistake
National Guard Invades Kent State
Students Vs. ROTC
Students at Kent State are appalled to hear that President Nixon declared invasion of Cambodia. Because Nixon ordered to invade Cambodia, that meant even more troops needed to get drafted. Kent State students started to riot because they disagreed with the situation. The rioting brought the National Guard. As a part of rioting the students went to the ROTC and burnt it down. The ROTC was a soldier training camp, which made sense. The students were mad that Nixon was making new people train to become soldiers to invade Cambodia. First the students tried to burn it down, but the national guard was there using hoses to put out the fire. That made the students even more angry, so the students went to cut the hoses. By this time the building looked like it was out of flames. As the students were leaving, they turned around to see that the ROTC was engulfed with flames. The students won.

Students Vs. National Guard
After the ROTC, students go back home and have a normal day. The national guard is camped out on the football field. The students have a rally the next day, Monday. So, of course the national guard is getting involved once again. The national guard was throwing tear gas at the students, which made them run and the national guard would chase them. Once the students stopped running, the national guard thought they had the students surrounded... But the students had the national guard surrounded. Which resulted in the students chanting and throwing rocks at the national guard. The national guard retaliated by throwing rocks back, not only did they start throwing rocks back, some pointed guns at the students. All the students were thinking was "Oh, they won't shoot us." ... Then the first "warning shot" is fired. Once the students heard a gunshot, they ran. As students are running, they see people falling down.. The national guard was actually shooting people. Students that were just walking to class, got shot. People were getting killed by our own national guard.
