** RETIREMENT **
After 20+ years at TOHS and 23+ at CVUSD, I will be retiring at the end of December to help care for my parents.
While I had hoped for a yearlong celebration prior to my planned retirement in 3 years, I will say goodbye sooner than I expected. TOHS has been my home for many years, starting 9th grade in 19?? I made lifelong friends and met my future husband. My siblings, my kids and nephews were all Lancers. My husband and I attended basketball, football, and baseball games before and after our kids graduated. Any TO alums old enough to remember "cruising" TO Blvd and packing Shakey's Pizza Parlor after a football game?
Returning to work at TOHS in January 2000 was surreal, many of my former teachers were still in the classroom and were now colleagues. I spent time in the front office, the library and the CCC. Honestly, every assignment was my best job ever. I truly loved getting up to come to school every day. It was never work for me, it was an exciting (and sometimes daunting) challenge and a fun adventure all in one! I will miss the campus, the students and all the staff very, very much.
While my new "job" with my parents is sure to be stressful and heartbreaking, I believe it will also be my best job ever.
#BleedGreenForever
With love & respect,
Connie Peters
