Veterans Day Celebration
Visitors are limited to Veteran honorees and those in the car with them. We have limited space on our blacktop and unfortunately cannot accommodate non-Veteran visitors. We will live-stream the choir performance using Google Meet to include anyone in our Lakeview community who would like to view the performance but is unable to join us on campus.
Important COVID-19 Update
We wanted to make parents and students aware that effective Monday, October 4, 2021, a new WSD-modified quarantine process will go into effect. The WSD-modified quarantine allows all close contacts who were exposed in the regular school or bus setting (regardless of mask status) to continue attending school in person. In order to qualify for this modification, students must remain consistently and appropriately masked and symptom-free throughout the duration of their 14-day quarantine period and may not participate in extracurricular activities. If students become symptomatic or do not consistently and appropriately wear a mask, they will be required to quarantine at home for the remainder of the 14 days.
The WSD will continue to participate in contact tracing and provide all relevant information to the St. Charles County Department of Public Health, and the SCCDPH will continue to issue orders of quarantine. While the provision of the WSD-modified quarantine allows for students who were exposed during school to continue attending school during the period of full quarantine, families may still elect to keep their student(s) home during this time period. The decision to attend school during this time would be at the parents’ discretion, and student learning will be supported by the WSD staff, regardless of whether the student chooses to attend in person or learn while at home during this time period. As a reminder, students must remain completely symptom-free and appropriately and consistently wear a well-fitted mask in order to be eligible for the new WSD-modified quarantine. Students who do not meet these criteria must remain at home for the duration of their quarantine period.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students safe and at school.

COVID Mitigating Measures Update
Dr. Cain shared information related to the current COVID-19 conditions in the WSD (as of Sept. 28). Recommendations of mitigation efforts were shared with the Board of Education. The Board voted to increase the masking requirement threshold to 5% and to approve the other recommended mitigation strategies.
I wanted to highlight a few of the changes and you can read the rest of them by following the above link.
- Lunchroom and classroom visitors suspended through the close of the semester (with the exception of District contracted partners or educational volunteers)
- For parent meetings: If held in person, masks are required for all parties in attendance. Virtual option is available at the parent’s request.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences will be moving to virtual.
- We will be moving to assigned seating in the cafeteria.

Updated Proof of Residency Requirements
WSD Parents/Guardians,
Starting with the 2021-2022 school year, our buildings will ask every current family to provide updated proof of residency to the school that serves the oldest child in the family. The documents will be collected from August 1 through October 31.
Please send your proof of residency to the email address associated with the school your oldest child attends: Residency Proof Email Addresses by Building. If you have already provided residency proof, thank you! You may disregard this email.
For the list of approved documents, please see the District website.
New enrollments will be required to provide full proof of residency documentation.
Please contact your school's secretary or registrar for further information.
