SAINTS SCOOP
April 27th - May 4th
Dear ICCRS Community,
Earth Day is a time for us to reflect, show gratitude, and take action as we recognize the beauty of our planet and our responsibility as stewards of God's creation.
At ICCRS, we strongly believe in nurturing not only the minds and hearts of our students but also instilling in them a deep reverence for the environment. As Catholics, we are called to care for the Earth, acknowledging it as a precious gift from God. Earth Day serves as a reminder of this sacred duty.
Earth Day is not just a day on the calendar; it's a reminder of our sacred duty as Catholics and as human beings. The teachings of our Catholic faith highlight the interconnectedness of all creation and the importance of living in harmony with nature. It is our collective responsibility to heed these words and take meaningful action to safeguard our common home.
It's hard to believe that next week we will be entering the month of May. May is a busy time at ICCRS, filled with many exciting events, activities, field trips, games, and concerts. Please read the "Save The Date" section at the bottom of this newsletter to stay updated on all the upcoming events.
Best,
Mr. Michael Miele

Calendar Preview for SY 2024-2025
I am pleased to inform you that the school calendar for the next academic year has been finalized. Our team has worked diligently to ensure a well-balanced schedule, incorporating ample time for academics, holidays, parent-teacher conferences, professional development days, and breaks. Please note that there will be no half-days during the school year with the exception of the last day. This decision was made based on valuable family feedback as well as guidance from RIDE and Diocese. August 28th will be a full day of school for grades K-8.
A more detailed calendar outlining school events, athletics, performances, PTO activities, and masses will be posted in the Parent Portal later this summer.
ICCRS Spring Book Fair: May 6th - May 9th in the Theater
Dear Families:
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books
empowers kids and inspires them on their journey to becoming lifelong readers. AND—as
always— every purchase at the Fair benefits our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the big event, which will take place from May 6 – May 9,
2024 in the school theater. (Students will be shopping during their regularly scheduled Library
class).
Say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the
Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each
child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy. If
you have an existing eWallet balance from the Fall Fair, you must reassign the remaining
funds in order to use them at the Spring Fair. If 75% or more of the school shops with an
eWallet, students will earn a school wide dress down day!
Please remember that unlike previous fairs, Scholastic is now enforcing that ALL sales
transactions include SALES TAX. Therefore, if a child is paying with cash, it will make it very
difficult for he/she to receive the exact change back because there will be very limited cash in
the registers.
Flyers for the fair will be going home next week with your child. If you can’t make it to the Fair,
then shop at our school’s Book Fair online. All orders ship directly to your home, and
shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will also benefit our school.
Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:

The countdown to more Book joy is on! Catch you at the Fair!
Happy reading,
Mr. Miele

We are very excited to celebrate all of our Teachers and Staff this year! Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6th - 10th and we have a few things planned that we hope will knock their socks off. Every day there will be a new treat in store for them! With that said, we can use your help. We are looking for donations and two parents per class to sit with the students while the teachers are at lunch on Friday, May 10th. If you are interested please click here for the Sign-up Genius for your child's class and we will email the information that you will need for that day. If you would like to donate something, please contact Michelle DeSantis Collard at angelsw97@yahoo.com or 401-261-1700.
