Happy September!!
I hope everyone is enjoying our most recent cool off!! Our first 4 weeks of school have been very busy!
We've done a lot of getting to know you activities in this first month of school. Below are pictures from one of my favorite activities - The "Me Bag". The students loved to share their "Me Bags" with the class! We also did a lot of team building. You might want to ask your child what their team name is and how they created their team flags.
Thanks to all who attended Curriculum Night! If you should have any questions about our curriculum or anything about what's going on in 2K, please contact me!
Big News!! We filled our "Hawks Feather" jar!! The students voted on Pajama and Stuffed Animal day. We will have our celebration on Tuesday, September 20th. The stuffed animals should be small enough to fit on the corner of your child's desk.
I'm so please to see so many of you have signed up for Remind101! I sent a 2nd email with the link, since some of you were not receiving my reminders. If you have signed up and have not received reminders, please let me know so I can rectify the situation.
Graded Math tests and spelling tests went home on Friday, 9/16. I told the class if they would like to correct the problems on their Math test and turn it back in, I will give them a Dojo point for persistence and 1/2 credit for corrections.
Please check out the following links to see what's being used in second grade. Remember that the Georgetown School 2nd Grade page https://sites.google.com/a/ipsd.org/georgetown-school-2nd-grade/ can give you a enormous amount of information, including units we are working on as well has homework.

Week 3 Spelling List
Friday, I sent home spelling list number 3. Please have your child practice writing the words, a little each day (rainbow writing or typing the words on the computer provide great practice), to be ready for the test on the following Thursday. If you did not receive the spelling list, you can always find all of the lists on our Second Grade Website, under Word Study, High Frequency Words. I have also listed the words for this Thursday's test below.
