Principal's Post
Kennedy Families,
Greetings from the Kennedy Elementary Office!
We are so pleased and proud to be a Level 5 School! In Tennessee, the highest number for a school to rate is a 5! In the coming months, we look forward to hosting activities here at school so you can see "first hand" the outstanding work that happens here each day. Our vision for our school is to grow students as leaders who help others, overcome challenges, have a willingness to learn, and lead with respect. We are also here for the "whole child" and not just academics. Keeping that in mind, we love offering early childhood experiences that bring joy to our communities. Read below for several events that are coming up!
This school and it's community are blessings in my life, and I hope you feel the same way. I am proud to say I love my job and the work we do. I believe so strongly in our school and what we do that I bring my own children here. Thanks so much for partnering with us in your child's education.
How are we doing? Feel free to email me with comments and concerns.
Proud to serve you and the Lynn Garden Community,
Janice Irvin, Ed. D.

Don't Miss this AWESOME Evening of Family Fun!
Please Donate by Thursday
Please donate bags of candy and cakes (Little Debbies are fine!) for our Spooky Literacy Night and Fall Festival. These will help us with Trunk-o-Treat and our "Snake Walk" (cake walk). This event will take place outside and in the gym.
Right now there is a 60% chance of rain for this event. Our Rain Date will be 10/28/21 from 5-6:30. This event would overlap with the Book Fair.
Thanks so much to Debbie Allen and our PTA for all they have done to organize this event!

Lynn Garden Leaders Service Project
Our Lynn Garden Leaders did a great job leading the charge to collect new and gently used shoes! We collected 200+ pairs of shoes and Ms. Allen filled her Jeep completely to take them to the Holly Help Spay and Neuter Fund. If Holly Help collects 2,500 pairs of shoes, they will receive $1,000.00 to go toward low cost spay and neuter surgeries
for dogs and cats. In addition, the shoes will be donated to a third-world country.
Way to go, Coyotes!

H- Helping Others
O- Overcoming Challenges
W- Willingness to Learn
L- Leading with Respect
Hear us HOWL!
In addition to these expectations we use Positive Discipline with Lifeskills at Kennedy Elementary. We know that a part of growing our students as leaders includes citizenship and character. We believe our students are the best in Tennessee.

Kennedy Family Positive Discipline
Positive Discipline really boils down to discipline that is kind and firm. We focus on fixing the behavior, not necessarily punishment. It's based on respect and character building.

Health and Medical
Additionally, we have a tele-medicine program where a child can be seen via a camera and equipment in Nurse Linkous's office. They can receive antibiotics through this program if needed! We encourage you to use this program! It's awesome!

Zones of Regulation
In addition to addressing self-regulation, the students will be gaining an increased vocabulary of emotional terms, skills in reading facial expressions, perspective on how others see and react to their behavior, insight on events that trigger their behavior, calming and alerting strategies, problem solving skills and much more. You can connect this work to parenting as home. We are excited to help our Coyotes stay in the Green Zone!
