Hello Hilltopper Families!
It was wonderful to see so many of you at last evening’s Literacy Night festivities. What a great way to culminate our weeks of reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for our One School One Book! I hope you enjoyed playing the games and seeing Mr. Wonka himself as much as I did!
I am wishing you all an awesome spring break filled with laughter, relaxation and unforgettable moments with your little ones. I hope this time off will be a chance to recharge, explore and create cherished memories together. Whether you're embarking on adventures or enjoying cozy moments at home, may every day be filled with joy and warmth. Here's to a fantastic spring break ahead!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Makee
Congratulations to Mrs. Donna Shafranek on retiring from Chardon Schools after 25 years of service!

FAMILY LITERACY NIGHT
A "sweet" time was had by Park students, their families and Willy Wonka at Family Literacy Night on Wednesday, March 20th. Students played word games, performed in a reader's theater, and were treated to a musical performance by Willy Wonka. Park staff members planned a memorable literacy-filled evening for all who attended.
IMPORTANT DISMISSAL INFORMATION
To ensure the safety and smooth dismissal of all students, we kindly request that any last-minute changes to your child's dismissal plan be communicated to the school office by 2:00 PM daily. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may still arise and we appreciate your understanding. This proactive approach will allow us to make the necessary arrangements and guarantee a secure and efficient dismissal process for all students. Your cooperation is invaluable in maintaining a safe and organized environment.
Reading is Sweet!!
The book fair was a wonderful success. The students had a lot of fun buying books and playing the guessing game. The fair generated over $5000. The profits will help purchase books and items for the Park School Library.
A BIG thanks to our volunteers for making the Book Fair a big success by helping with the set up, helping students with selecting great books, aiding with the games, and just helping making the book fair fun.

IMPORTANT- BLIZZARD BAGS
Since we have reached our 5th calamity day, we want to inform you about our Blizzard Bag Plan for Park Elementary which went home on February 9th. We are providing Blizzard Bags to your child in the event of inclement weather resulting in a school closure. This will enable your child to continue their learning at home. These bags will contain TWO DAYS WORTH of assignments and activities which align with their current curriculum. Your child's teacher will provide instructions and we encourage you to engage with your child in completing these assignments to ensure continuity in their education. As for the specials classes, complete ONLY the activity for the special the child has on that calamity day. You will have 10 school days to complete each day's Blizzard Bag assignments. For example, if we have a snow day on March 1, the bag would be due on March 15th. We appreciate your support in making learning a collaborative effort, even on snow days. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office.
