IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Dear Cooper Families,
As we head into the final weeks of the school year, we want to bring some important reminders to you, in an effort to maintain a safe and cohesive school community here at Cooper.
Please know that your children mean the world to each and every staff member in our school. Our genuine desire is to keep them safe, keep them smiling and keep them growing, both academically and socially, in a respectful and uplifting environment.
Sometimes, we experience issues that tend to distract from this goal. Whether it is a damaging rumor or inappropriate behaviors, please know that our professional staff members are in tune and do not hesitate to address these types of issues, with the support of district resources.
Your assistance is critical when issues arise that could detract from our classroom learning and our safe environment at Cooper. If you notice a change in your child’s behavior, address it with your child and please feel free to ask Cooper staff for support. We promise the same in return – if we notice a change in your child, we will communicate with you, as the parent or guardian. If you see or hear something that is of a safety concern, please report it to any school staff member. If you notice your child is exhibiting stress over rumors or gossip, talk it out, and bring the concern to us.
We are a family here at Cooper, and want to work with you in everything that concerns your child and especially when any student is struggling.
Another reminder, as the weather warms up and more children are out and about. Each spring, we do, unfortunately experience an increase in ‘stranger danger’ incidents at and around bus stops and walking routes to and from school. Please remind your child to walk in groups; to never engage in a conversation with any adult who may approach them; run if they feel threatened or afraid and report all suspicious incidents to an adult, immediately.
Together, we will wrap up another fantastic school year at Cooper on a safe, happy note. We look forward to all of the fun end-of-the-year activities that are coming up!
Grateful for your partnership,
Principal Owens and Assistant Principal Collyer
