Friday Flyer
Second Grade
Dear Second Grade Parents,
Your children did a wonderful job with their Spanish performance yesterday! Thank you to Senora Jimenez for helping them put together "Little Red Riding Hood" en Espanol!
On Monday, we put signs on neighborhood storm drains to remind people not to pollute. This community service project was led by Dr. Yaffe for the Second Grade Science Club. We were grateful that we had beautiful weather for it!
In math, the children are learning about decimal notation for money, as well as money equivalencies in fraction form. For example, "What fraction of a quarter is 1 nickel?" We also practiced money amounts with a calculator and noticed how these amounts looked on the display.
We concluded our study of the Plains. Next week, we'll have our feast of buffalo jerky to celebrate!
Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend,
Emilia and Rachel
