PSAT
PSAT will be on Wed, Oct 14. Cost is $20, Juniors and Sophomores are encouraged to take this test. Scores earned by juniors can qualify them for the National Merit Scholars Program or the National Merit and National Achievement scholarship. Sophomores, this is good experience! Pay for PSAT before or after school in the College and Career Center.

Sparkman Cross Country
Sparkman Cross Country competed at the Scottsboro Invitational today. Varsity Boys finished 12th out of 21 teams, led by Senior Seth Graham who not only placed 11th but earned himself a new PR. Other Varsity boys setting PRs were Senior Alex Walker, Sophomores David Lee and Liam Nelson along with Freshman Tyler Dixon. Varsity Girls finished 14th of 19 teams with Junior Kirby Brown crushing her PR for the 5K distance. The JV Boys team continued to shine placing second of 15 teams in their division. Placing were Freshman Shafi Muhammad in 8th place and MMS 7th grader Austin Al-Dijaili in 14th. Freshman Isaiah Vasquez set a new PR for the 2.1 mile distance. JV Girls team finished sixth of 14 teams, had two runners placing with Freshman Mary Frances Burch setting a PR and finishing 5th and MMS 8th grader Elisha Jones in 12th. MMS 7th grader Bailey Wallace showed what she was made of by setting a new PR. Congratulations Senators on another fantastic meet!

- The online Free/Reduced meal application for the 2015-2016 school year is now available on the Madison County Schools web page at: https://mealapps.madison.k12.al.us/lfserver/frapplication. If you feel you qualify, we encourage you to complete the application on line. If you complete an application on line, you will not need to complete a paper application when returning to school this August.
- The 2016 Senator Yearbook is on sale now. The cost is $80. You can order at My School Fees (link on SHS homepage) or in Room 127 before of after school.
