Happy Monday!
What a beautiful weekend! I hope you were all able to get outside and enjoy the weather. The weather next weekend should be even nicer! Join us this Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am-4:00 pm to work on replacing the wood in our outdoor Davis Learning Garden. This will allow us to start our future projects to support STEM learning at Davis in the Spring and for years to come. I'd like to share a valuable resource that I consistently use with my children whenever they request to watch a movie or download a video game or app on their phones. Common Sense Media is a great place to check on appropriate age for movies and apps; if they has positive messages and role models if there is violence, language use, reviews by parents and children, and more!! The parent tips section gives “tips” for screen time, using apps, and cellphones, by age of your child, and more.

As we start planning for the 2024-2025 school year lottery please let us know if you are moving or know you will be returning to Davis for the 2024-2025 school year. Feel free to call our office to let us know so we can mark it and then we will send you the withdrawal form.
Summer Scholars Academy Registration -
NOW OPEN Visit Summer School Program Information full part day and full day options. Deadline to register for summer school is May 3rd.
Gate 2/Kinder Parking Loop
No cars are allowed to park at Gate 2/Kinder Parking Loop at any time. We have school buses arriving/departing throughout the day and parking on the sidewalk/grass is not permitted as utilities run underneath. There is an overflow parking lot at the baseball field to accommodate any parking for all activities.
Running Club
The deadline to sign up for the KROC final mile is THIS Wednesday. Here is the link to sign up: https://kidsruntheoc.org/ Make sure to choose Davis as your school so we can see how many students we have signed up in our group.
Conference Week Reminders K-6 school dismisses at 1:20 (Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri.) and there is no school on Wednesday. We look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child’s success and ensure a plan is in place for the year's successful end of the year.
- State Pre-K (Diaz): Early Dismissal at 1:00 pm
- Special Day Pre-K: Regular schedule days
- No Pre-K classes on Wednesday.
Report Cards are now Digital!
Students and Parents log into the NMUSD Illuminate Home Connect Portal to access their TK-6 report cards. Grades are set to appear in the Portal on March 19th and June 7th. Parent Volunteer Reminder
We appreciate and love our Davis community for helping our students and staff. As we prepare for upcoming spring events, we want to remind our families about the essential requirements for anyone planning to volunteer on campus or attend a field trip during school hours. All volunteers must be cleared through the Raptor system to ensure safety and keep track of visitors on campus in case of an emergency. All volunteers are expected to coordinate with the teachers to schedule classroom volunteering sessions to support the student's instructional program. Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our school community.
Lost and Found
The deadline for Lost and Found items is Friday, March 29th Please visit the office or flag deck this week to check for any belongings. We have several boxes filled with umbrellas, clothing, and lunch items. If your child attends ROCKS, kindly drop by ROCKS, as they currently have numerous bags containing lost and found items.
Davis Magnet School Application -LAST WEEK
Application to Davis Magnet School closes on March 15 at 11:59 pm.

Parents applying for admission for their incoming siblings or children are required to create or log in to a School Mint account. Please make sure to create a School Mint parent account to complete the Davis Magnet School application. It is crucial to apply before the deadline, as NO exceptions will be made. Thank you for your cooperation.
Parent Choice Transfer- 6th Grade into 7th Grade - LAST WEEK
The Parent School Choice Transfer request application closes on March 15, 2024, at 11:59 PM. A lottery will be held to rank the applications received. Parents will be notified regarding the status of their Parent School Choice Transfer application by email or in writing by May 15, 2024. You can also log into your SchoolMint account for a status update.
Transfer that is not submitted will result in the student attending their residential school for 7 grade.

Community Recycling
Our Green Team will be hosting a monthly recycling collection. Families can bring their empty cans, plastic bottles, and batteries to the lunch area before the flag deck. We DO NOT recycle glass, cardboard, or paper at this time. Please note the batteries need to be alkaline. Dates: 3/29, 4/26, 5/31

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT
Save the Date! PTA will be hosting the Family Movie Night on March 22, 2024. Migration will start playing at sunset (approximately 7pm). A Chick-Fil-A dinner and snacks will be served starting at 6:30pm, while supplies last courtesy of the PTA.
SPRING AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS - COMING SOON
The Spring Session for After-School Enrichment classes will begin the week of April 1st. Keep an eye out for a flier with the schedule and registration information in your child's orange folder and in the next Ducks Update! We have some exciting new companies lined up!
If your child is participating in one of the Winter Session After-School Enrichment programs, you are invited to please complete this quick Survey regarding your experience. Your feedback will help us plan future enrichment sessions and by completing the survey, you will automatically be entered to win a free item of Davis spirit wear. The survey will remain open until 3/31/2024. The winner will be contacted via email.

Foundation Information
