Our district holds two debate competitions - winter and spring. Both have grade 5/6 and 7/8 divisions and are LEARNING opportunities for the students. All debate lessons can be taught within the classroom or a teacher/community volunteer can lead a debate team. We have lots of resources available to help you! Click on this DEBATE INFORMATION link so we know you are interested.
Event Dates:
Winter: December 9, 2016, Capital University
Spring: TBA

SPELLING BEE
The Gifted and Talented Department no longer sponsors a district spelling bee. However, all CCS schools may participate in the Scripps Spelling Bee program by enrolling their school at http://spellingbee.com/ and hosting their own classroom and school bees. The registration is paid in full by the Ohio Lottery. By registering you will have access to teacher guides, word lists, vocabulary practice and guidelines on organizing a school spelling bee. School winners will take the online test for the opportunity to participate in the regional Spelling Bee held in March at Ohio University. Click on this Spelling Bee Newsletter link for all information.
Geography Bee
GEOGRAPHY BEE REGISTRATION. Deadline to register is December 22, 2016.
