St. Patrick Catholic School
Principal's Weekly Newsletter
December 15, 2022
Ten days until Christmas, but who is counting! Congratulations to our band students and Mrs. Lawrence on a fantastic concert Tuesday night. I can't wait for the grade 3/4 Christmas musical this evening at 7 PM. All are invited to join us in Dutcher Gym.
It has been so fun to see the smiles on students' faces as they leave the CCC with gifts for their families. Organizing and running St. Nick's Shop is a lot of work but the joy it brings is immeasurable. Many students have been ill this week and Friday will allow make-up shopping time for anyone who missed their class' day or forgot their money earlier in the week. Kindergartners will finish up tomorrow as well. If you need a shopping list you can print one here.
Christmas break is Dec. 22-Jan. 2. We will be closing our buildings at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, Dec. 21, to give our staff and families a head start on the holidays. Circle of Care/Day Care will not be open that afternoon. Classes resume on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Blessings,
Mr. Wiebers
FAITH
It warms your heart to see our students so excited about the birth of the baby Jesus. Mrs. Stone's nativity scene is a popular choice during center time right now. I see the joy of Christmas in each and every classroom when I stop in.
EXCELLENCE
SERVICE
We appreciate CPTO's running St. Nick's Shop again this year! In addition to our parent organizers, we had other parents and grandparents come in to help along with our older students serving as shopping buddies for the younger ones.
Out of Uniform Days
On Monday, December 19, we’ll be relaxing with PJ day. Regular shoes must be worn. No hats.
On Tuesday, December 20, students may be out of uniform with red, green, white or Christmas-themed attire. Our Christmas luncheon features pizza this year by popular request!
(Wednesday is Mass day and a regular uniform day.)
A Thank You From Our Students
St. Patrick School Grade 7 and 8 Students thank the Knights of Columbus for their help setting up, planning, and working the December 11 breakfast. Your assistance and your donations helped make the event successful. We also want to thank the parish and school community who came to the breakfast. Your donations and encouragement are greatly appreciated. We will update you periodically as we continue our service learning project.
Note: a number of our dads are members of the Knights. If you are interested in meeting others while spending a little time serving our parish, school, and community, the Knights would love to have you! Email parent Mike Youngblut, KC financial secretary, with any questions or to learn more.
