Plainfield High School student athlete receives prestigious award
Each golf season, the Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association honors a golfer who has faced mental and/or physical handicaps while playing high school golf. Particular emphasis is placed on the player's ability to overcome adversities and focuses on contributions to the team, school and community.
Kayla, who placed 17th at the IHSAA girls golf state finals, was also selected first team all state by the Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association. Kayle will receive the award at the IHSGCA Awards Banquet on Thursday, October 10th.
1:1 TECHNOLOGY AT PLAINFIELD HIGH SCHOOL
Tomorrow evening, October 8th at 6pm, marks our first of several technology forums being held over the next nine months to update parents and the community on progress of the 1:1 computer initiative at Plainfield High School. We will share the program's most current information and updates in addition to answering any questions as we move toward full implementation for the 2015-2016 school year.
Below you will find agenda items for upcoming scheduled forums, along with the dates, times and locations. You will also find a list of devices used in the 1:1 pilot program at PHS. We are collecting feedback from students and staff on these devices to help prioritize desired features. Devices selected for implementation at PHS may or may not come from devices used in the pilot, as device manufactures are continuously updating device offerings.

Weather Advisories
PCSC administration considers a number of factors when determining how to proceed in the event of inclement weather - forecast, local police department, driving neighborhood roads and conference calling with other local schools. Student safety is of utmost priority.
While the recommendation to delay or cancel school comes from the corporation, please be advised that the decision to keep your child home ultimately rests with the parent/guardian.
PCSC delay or cancellation messages are communicated in a variety of ways:
- Local television stations: WTHR 13, WRTV 6, WISH 8, and FOX 59
- PCSC website and social media (Twitter & Facebook)
- School Messenger - Administrators use SchoolMessenger to send an email, voice message, or both when communicating alternate schedules and cancellations. Changes due to weather will generally be communicated prior to 6:30am. Contact information is drawn from PowerSchool.
Severe Weather Preparedness
Community Involvement
The recent opening of the Miracle Field at Al & Jan Barker Sports Complex is one example of Plainfield students, parents, teachers and leaders reaching out in a big way. It's tough to miss the good-natured spirit of this community! Miracle Movers Field (HCFlyer article)
Take a look at the PCSC COMMUNITY page where you will find flyers and district fundraisers in addition to local resources and information on Plainfield and the surrounding Hendricks County area.
Taking the Crown
Students from over 20 Indiana high schools competed for the top honors in this scholarship pageant. In addition to being selected as the overall winner, Maci was also selected as the Miss Hoosier High Academic winner based on having the highest cumulative grade point average.
As Miss Hoosier High, Maci will serve as a role model to other Hoosier students and will have opportunities to assist with and take part in community events throughout the state.
Way to go, Maci!
