Operation Helping Hand - Giving Kids The Food They Need To Succeed
More than 20,000 children in Bucks County are "food insecure". That means they don't know when - or if - they will get their next meal. Hungry kids often have health issues and struggle to do well in school. Luckily, you can help! Operation Helping Hand, United Way of Bucks County's annual one day food drive for schools, is March 11, 2015. When you send your child to school with a nonperishable food item on March 11th, you are fighting hunger in Bucks County and helping a child like yours succeed in school and beyond.

Hands Across The Sea Book Drive
Dear Gayman Families,
My name is Ryan Sheahan. I am a Gayman graduate of the 2014 school year. I am working on a service project called Hands Across the Sea which provides books and promotes literacy to young children in the Caribbean. I am running a book drive to collect gently used books ranging from picture books to chapter books. If you are wiling to donate, there will be a box outside the main office doors that will be there for about one month. We will be very grateful if you donate. If you wish to visit our website you can go to www.handsacrossthesea.net more for information.
Thanks,
Ryan Sheahan
Science Fair A Success
The lunchroom, stage, and library all exploded this week with over 100 science fair projects. Students from grade K-6 participated in showing off wonderful observations, experiments, recordings, and findings. Scientific thinking abounded as kids questioned and tested their thoughts to prove themselves right, or wrong in some cases! That's what's so great about science...it's having fun trying to see if it works or not. Either way, we learn, have fun, and sometimes even eat! Thanks to all the participants for their great effort, and to all the parents for their guidance and support!

CBSD Announces New Facebook Page
The Central Bucks School District is always looking for ways to enhance communication. Adding a Facebook page is another way the district hopes to share "good news" and information with the community. The district will begin by concentrating on district level announcements, and over time add more content, including special school-based events.
For internet security reasons, we ask that you review this by way of your personal Facebook account at: https://www.facebook.com/cbschools
