WELCOME BACK SCHOLARS AND STAFF!
I hope the extended weekend provided you with time to reflect, recharge and hopefully safely play in the snow.
NATIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELING WEEK
We are asking all CHISD staff, parents and students to participate in this week’s photo Challenge for National School Counseling Week The 2022 theme is School Counseling: Better Together. Check out the lineup of events for the week. This week-long celebration focuses public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems.
INTERIM ASSESSMENTS
Many of our CHISD Scholars will take Interim Assessments this month (third and eighth grade Math and Reading, fifth and eighth grade Science, eighth grade Social Studies, Algebra I, Biology, English I and II and US History).
BOARD WORKSHOP TONIGHT
The Cedar Hill ISD Board of Trustees will have a Workshop Meeting at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the Third Floor Training Room at the Cedar Hill Government Center, 285 Uptown Boulevard in Cedar Hill. Here is the link to watch: https://www.chisd.net/Page/16145
TEACHER INCENTIVE WINNERS
Cedar Hill Independent School District awarded $22,500 as part of its Teacher Attendance Incentive Program, with $1,500 going to 15 teachers in the district.
As part of the Fall 2021 Teacher Incentive Program, teachers with two or fewer absences during the semester were entered into a drawing.
Teacher Attendance is instrumental to scholar success. Numerous studies have shown that to be true. We are grateful for these teachers’ commitment in their respective classrooms.
The winners were Brittany Sallier, Nicholas Ward and Dinesh Yadav, Cynthia Arceneaux, Donna Christy, Michael Cunningham, Noah Ornelas, Allyson Hibdon, Sheryl Moore, LaTonya Gaither, Elizabeth Villalba, William Holmes, Charde Cooks, Janay Brent and Danielle Proctor.
CHISD will repeat the drawing of $1,500 apiece for 15 teachers at the end of the Spring 2022 semester.
In August, CHISD will award five $3,000 incentive checks for teachers with zero absences at the 2022-2023 District Convocation.
SPELLING BEE WINNERS
Congratulations to Bessie Coleman Middle School Seventh Grader Saniyah McGrew on winning the 2022 Cedar Hill ISD Spelling Bee last month. McGrew will participate in the Dallas County Spelling Bee in March.
Collegiate Academy Middle School classmates Kasyn Hamid (seventh grade) and Wesley Williams (sixth grade) finished second and third, respectively.
