2024 MCAS Reminders
Students will be taking the MCAS test over the months of April and May. We encourage all students to try their best during the MCAS tests. There are a few tips that can help students do their best on the testing days:
- Get a good night of sleep before the test.
- Eat a healthy and well balanced breakfast.
- Encourage a calm and relaxed morning routine.

Spring Parent Teacher Conferences
Spring parent-teacher conferences will occur on Wednesday, April 10th (afternoon) and Thursday, April 11th (evening). The Roderick staff and I believe that educational objectives are best achieved when there is a strong home-school relationship and cooperation between parents and teachers. This relationship is dependent upon effective communication. One of the best means of establishing effective home-school relationships is the parent-teacher conference.
Since a successful parent-teacher conference is a joint enterprise, we ask that you arrive prepared with the following information for the conference:
Your child's behavior at home.
Health habits, including eating, sleeping and general disposition.
Use of time out of school, including play, reading, study habits, television, hobbies and interests.
Relationship with parents, other members of the family, friends, and neighbors.
Attitude toward authority and ability to accept direction.
Your child's feelings about school.
Questions you may want to ask about your child and his/her progress.
Suggestions which would help the teacher work more effectively with your child.
If you have questions for special subject teachers, they will be available on Wednesday, April 10th from 12:30-3:00 and Thursday, April 11th from 5:00-7:45 for drop in conferences.
We look forward to making spring parent-teacher conferences a successful experience for all families!
2024-2025 Classroom Placement
We are looking for your input and voice in the placement process for next school year. Parent and guardian input is an important aspect of creating balanced classrooms and successful learning experiences for all students.
2024 WPS Family Placement Input Survey
We will be accepting placement input from parents and guardians until Monday, April 22nd. We value parent voice in the placement process as an important tool for creating classrooms that all children can find success both academically and socially.
