Knightly Update March 3, 2024
ACP High School - Edition Vol 3 Issue 31
We had another fantastic weekend! Our Speech & Debate team won this year's state championship tournament bringing home another state championship trophy! This is the teams fourth state title in the last five years. An absolutely amazing achievement. I am so proud of our students and coaches. Seeing our students in action is incredible. The talent they display in every category is simply amazing. They continue to set the bar high for themselves and they worked so hard throughout the season to accomplish their goals - and they did just that. Congratulations on an amazing season and state title. You are the best in Arizona!! Congrats!
It is hard to believe another quarter is coming to an end. I appreciate the effort all our students and staff have put forth this quarter and hope everyone has a very fun and relaxing spring break. Enjoy the time off.
As a reminder, the administration of state assessments will take place next quarter. Due to the assessments, a late start schedule will be implemented on April 9th, 10th and 11th. The late start schedule is below. If you or your child has any questions about this upcoming test, please contact the office and we will assist. Additional information will be shared when we return from the break.
Quarter grades will be posted on Friday, March 8th. Please review your child's grades via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and contact the appropriate instructor if you have any questions. I hope our students are pleased with their academic progress.
It's National School Social Work Week and we are excited to celebrate our school's social worker, Mr. Eddie Soto. Mr. Soto is wonderful member of ACP. He is passionate about working with our students and their social emotional well-being. Social Workers leverage student, school, and community data to devise comprehensive plans that extend beyond the school environment, reaching families, communities, and district personnel. They rise to support all students. Please join me in thanking Mr. Soto for all that he does for our students and the help he provides with the work that he does on a daily basis. Thank you, Mr. Soto.
As this is the last newsletter of the quarter, I want to wish everyone a very happy and safe spring break. Our students certainly deserve some time to rest and have fun. Please consider attending some of the various competitions that will take place over the break and cheer on our Knights. Speaking of competitions, I wish all of this year's Mr. ACP competitors the best of luck in Thursday's competition. I look forward to watching you battle for the crown.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and school. The office will be closed the weeks of March 11th and March 18th. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, March 25th. The next regular edition of the Knightly Update will be delivered on March 24th. I look forward to seeing our students return to school on Tuesday, March 26th. Have a great break, everyone!

We're pleased to celebrate one of our Sophomores, Samantha Platt. Samantha was nominated, auditioned, and selected from thousands of singers across the world to perform with the Honors Performance Series Treble Choir.
The Honors Performance Series, sponsored by Worldwide Strides, was established to feature talented student musicians in a once-in-a-lifetime performance on stage at world renowned venues. This opportunity is made possible by support and nominations from music educators across the globe.
In February, Samantha rehearsed and performed under master conductors at Carnegie Hall in New York City. It was a unique and exciting experience to not only perform but also an opportunity to meet other like-minded musicians from around the world. Though much of the time was focused on performance preparation, the program also allowed students to experience New York City's wonderful sights and performing arts scene.
Please congratulate Samantha on this wonderful honor and accomplishment!

Student Parking Information - 2024-2025 School Year
The 2024-2025 parking application is available now. Students can select their parking spots for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year in the weeks listed below. Students MUST have a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and a completed parking application prior to going to the Bookstore to select their spot. Click here to learn more about student parking. Students will receive a numbered parking placard that matches their parking spot, violations will be handed out if students are not parking in their assigned parking space. Two or more violations could result in loss of parking privileges.
Starting April 1st, 2024 @ 7am, once the application is completed your student can see Mrs. Arceo in the Bookstore to choose their parking space for the upcoming year. This will be on a first come, first served basis. We will begin with our incoming Seniors, followed by our incoming Juniors, next our incoming Sophomores following the schedule as listed below:
- Week of April 1st - Class of 2025 Parking Spot Selection
- Week of April 15th - Class of 2026 Parking Spot Selection
- Week of April 22nd - Class of 2027 Parking Spot Selection
Remember, you must complete the 2024-2025 parking application before your student can see Mrs. Arceo to select their parking space. Please make sure you receive a confirmation acknowledging a submitted application. I recommend you have your student have their driver's license and insurance (make sure the dates are current) with them or at least pictures of them to show Mrs. Arceo. Sometimes the documents may not load correctly and in the past, this has caused students to have to step out of line to complete it or call a parent. Do not fill out the parking application if your student will be receiving their license during the summer, please wait to fill it out when you can upload the graduated driver's license form or ID. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Arceo (arceo.laura@cusd80.com).
Families will be able to pay for the $80 Parking Permit starting July 1, 2024. Fees must be paid by 11:59 PM, July 19, 2024. If fees are not paid by this time, the space will be released and open to other students. Beginning July 17, 2024, students who have paid their $80 fee may pick up their parking placard for their assigned space from our Bookstore and hang the placard in their vehicle prior to the first day of school.
If students would like to pick up their placard before the first day of school and the fee has been paid, Mrs. Arceo will be distributing parking placards before July 17th and will post dates and times in the Summer Knightly Newsletter and on her web page, located under "helpful resources" on the ACP HS website.
