HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 4 Week 5 Friday 12 November
FROM MARK
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Plenty to consider in light of recent events.
Term four continues apace. Please keep an eye on the calendar! There is quite a lot of information coming to you via the newsletter and Seesaw in particular. We are doing our best to keep you informed and trust it keeps the path ahead in perspective.
Today our Year Five students spent the day being guided through a reflection on the importance of leadership, in preparation for 2022 and beyond. The agenda was enthusiastically received by them all. They reflected on the Student Code of Conduct, which is included today for your information. The expectations and sentiments within it are beautifully expressed and underpin how things work in our school, for our children. It is worth a read.
Next week sees our children engage in a multicultural morning, followed by our Grandparents lunch followed by classroom visits. It is so good to - all being well - invite them back to school for a fabulous afternoon together.
Enjoy the weekend. It looks like summer has decided to grace us with its presence at last!

St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hampers
Christmas for many of us is a time of happiness and celebration as we gather with our family and friends sharing meals, laughing and chatting as we open presents. However, for people experiencing poverty and disadvantage, Christmas can be a challenging time. The Vinnies Christmas Appeal encourages the community to rethink their priorities at Christmas time by helping to give joy and hope to those who need it most.
We are seeking your support through the donation of non-perishable food items. This will enable us to provide families and individuals who turn to St Vincent de Paul over this period with Christmas hampers so they too can share in the joy of Christmas.
Suggested items:
- Christmas cakes/puddings/cookies/mince pies
- Chocolates/candies/nuts/ snacks/ nibbles
- Christmas stockings for children
- Soft drinks/juices
- Long life milk/cream
- Long life custards (pouring, not powder)
- Tinned ham/fish/fruit/vegetables
- Jams/honey/pickles
- Bon Bons/crackers
- Baby products
No fresh fruits/vegetables. No meats
All items will be collected in each classroom and donated to St Vincent de Paul on Friday
10th December.

Science News
Years 1’s have some extra inhabitants in their classroom.
August in 1D brought in 3 tadpoles and they are very happily living in a tank eating lettuce and spinach. Ms Skinner collected water from Jack Adder Lake for them and even scooped up a baby fish at the same time!
The tadpoles look very fat and happy.
LIBRARY NEWS
This week in the library, our lessons started with The Last Post as we acknowledged Remembrance Day. The year 6’s enjoyed “Oh the Places You’ll Go” by Dr Seuss as we started preparing for the end of their time at HR. The 3 year old kindy gang and I had a great time reading “The Invisible String” and sharing our strings with each other. A reminder that all books are to be returned to the library next week in week 6. Please contact me if you have any queries.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
