Spring Sports are here!
- All sports registrations are done online through FamilyID.com (this is now called ArbiterSports) . To register for sports please click here: https://hello.familyid.com/home (if you do not have an account, you will need to create one before you are able to register for a sport)
- Spring sports registration opened in Arbiter Sports (formerly FamilyID) on February 11, 2024.
- Spring sports for High School (Varsity & JV) will begin on Monday, March 11, 2024.
- Spring sports for Modified will begin on Monday, March 25, 2024.
- Just like registering for the winter season, you will notice on FamilyID/Arbiter Sports that we will have 2 separate programs to register under, one for Schroeder Spring Athletics Registrations and Spry Spring Athletics Registrations. Please make sure you register under the correct program, as the program you register under cannot be changed by our office. If you make a mistake and register under the wrong program, you will have to go in and cancel your registration and re-register under the correct program. For example, if your child is a 8th grader registering for a Modified or Mod A sport, please make sure you register under the Spry program and then choose the Modified or or Mod A/Mod B section. If your child is a 9th grader trying out for Modified/Mod A, you would register under the Schroeder Program, Mod A section.
Our Spring 2024 sports offerings are:
- Baseball
- Unified Basketball
- Field Hockey (Mod B only)
- Girls Flag Football (Varsity Only)
- Boys Golf
- Boys Lacrosse

Physicals and Medication forms for sping sports
PHYSICAL EXAM:
- You must have a physical on file with the nurse dated on or after March 1, 2023 to be eligible to participate in a winter sport.
- As of January 31, 2021, the NYS form is the required form for physical exams and it can be found here: http://www.p12.nysed.gov/sss/documents/health-exam-form.pdf
- There are no exceptions, if you do not have a physical, you will not be eligible to participate.
MEDICATION FORM
The Independent Carry and Use Medication form needs to be on file with the nurse if your athlete carries any medication themselves (examples are an epi pen or an inhaler).
The form can be found on the district's website by going to www.websterschools.org; Under "Departments" choose "Health Office - District", on the left hand side click "Forms". The form is the "independent Carry and Use Medication Order for Grades 6-12"
Or click here for the form: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YK3mStWd-3CSYVXtSBv34wTnvS_QYODnVeTNAgDw01c/edit
These forms do not carry over from year to year. You must have a new form on file for each school year. You do not need a new form for each sporting season within that school year.
Athletic Placement Process (APP/Selection Classification)
- NYS requires students in 7th and 8th grade to go through the Athletic Placement Process for Inter-school Athletic Programs in order to participate in Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity sports.
- Per NYS, APP students must have a current physical exam, dated within 12 months of the start of the season in order to participate in the APP process.
- APP students are student athletes that are recommend to try out by the coach for that particular sport. The coach must provide the athlete's name to the Athletic Director to be eligible to participate in the APP process.
- For more information, refer to the WCSD APP Protocol.
Athletes of the Week
- Be sure to follow @SchroederSports on Twitter to see who the Athletes of the Week are!
- Coaches will nominate an athlete on their team for exhibiting what it means to be a Warrior (could be having great sportsmanship, helping teammates or just doing something special to make the program great!)
- Each week 2 teams are selected and athletes will be recognized.
- If you missed the ones already shared, see them below
Anna & Nick are full of energy and are Team-first players.
Sportsmanship
- Beginning with the Fall 2023 athletic season, there is a new Sportsmanship Regulation.
- This was approved by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA).
- You can read the regulation below which states what is expected of spectators and the consequences as a result of any non-sportsmanship behavior.
- We will be enforcing this regulation at every athletic event held.

Parent Square
- ParentSquare will be the form of communication for parents and coaches.
- If you haven't done so already, be sure to sign up for an account.
- You can join an off season group to be sure to get communication about upcoming tryouts, open gym or off season conditioning.
- Once an athlete is officially on a team, there will be a group or class for just the athletes and parents on that team. The coach will communicate using that in-season group regarding practices, games, cancellations and team events.
- Please note, when you sign up for ParentSquare, your notification setting defaults to 6:00pm. Any notification or post a coach does, won't come in until 6:00pm, unless the coach clicks for the post to be instant. You can go in and change this notification setting to instant, but whatever you set it for, will be for all communications, not just athletics or that specific group.
