Awards and Honors Ceremony
The Board of Education held an Awards and Honors Ceremony to recognize some of the outstanding accomplishments of students and staff. The Awards and Honors Ceremony will be held three times a year to commend members of the Kirkwood Schools community for their accomplishments. Please read the story on our website for a complete list of individuals and groups celebrated including those who could not attend this event.

Members of the Kirkwood Call were recognized for winning several awards including the National Scholastic Press Association Pacemaker Award, Best of Show Award, Speciality Magazine Award, Feature Writing in the National Student Media Contest, and Review Writing Award.

KSD Nutrition on the Weekends Registration
Kirkwood School District offers the KSD Nutrition on the Weekends (NOW) program to supply an array of nutritious, non-perishable meals and snacks for children experiencing food insecurity, free of charge. Boxes are distributed to families at their homes via delivery in a discrete and caring manner once per month.
If you wish for your child(ren) to participate in the program, please complete the form below. This information is kept confidential.

Now Accepting Nominees for the Kirkwood High School Athletic and Outstanding Alumni Halls of Fame
The Kirkwood School District (KSD) coordinates two distinguished Halls of Fame events, each dedicated to acknowledging excellence in different ways:

The Kirkwood High School Athletic and Outstanding Alumni Hall of Fame Selection committees are taking nominations for the Hall of Fame Classes of 2024-25.
Nominations
To make a nomination, complete and submit the online nomination form by visiting kirkwoodschools.org/HOF. It is recommended that you gather all the information before completing the form. Please fill out all questions and information to the best of your knowledge. All nominations become the property of the KSD Community Relations and Development Office and the Selection Committee. To ensure fairness in the process, the Selection Committee reserves the right to research and verify any information.
Kindergarten Registration Begins next Friday, January 19
Kindergarten registration for the 2024-25 school year will being on Friday, January 19. If you need to register a child who will be 5 before August 1, 2024, please consider collecting some items prior to beginning the registration process:
- Birth Certificate
- Two Proofs of Residency which include one of the following::
- Deed/Closing Statement
- Mortgage Statement dated within 30 days of the date of submission
- Unexpired lease/rental agreement signed by landlord and tenant and includes the address, apartment number and date of rental
- The second proof of residency may include:
- Occupancy permit from City Hall - Parent/Guardian must be the primary applicant
- Utility bill (gas/electric/water/sewer) - dated within 30 days of the date of submission for verification and including the name, service and mailing address.
- Real estate tax receipt dated within 1 year of the date of submission
- Personal property tax receipt dated within 1 year of the date of submission
- Declaration of Homeowners Insurance
You will also need to submit:
- Immunization Record:
- If applicable: Special Education / 504 Records: (IEP, psychological/ diagnostic evaluation)
- If applicable: Legal Documents / Court Orders: A copy of the section of the dissolution decree (not the petition) which stipulates custody in cases of parent divorce

Jan. 15 - Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
A Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held on Monday, January 15 at 1 p.m. at the Keating Center at Kirkwood High School. The celebration is sponsored by the Meacham Park Neighborhood Improvement Association, the Kirkwood Social Justice Coalition, the Kirkwood Humans Rights Commission and the Kirkwood School District.
Hiring Fair on Saturday, January 20
The Kirkwood School District will host a Job Fair on Saturday, January 20. The event will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Turner Building at 1099 Milwaukee Street in Kirkwood.
Feb. 10 - STEAMFest
We are looking for STEAMfest volunteers to greet guests, assist with a hands-on activity in a science room and grade projects. The event will be held in person on February 10. Interested in helping? Please complete our STEAMfest volunteer form.
