Below is our PBIS matrix for schoolwide expectations in all areas of our building. The students may know these as the three R's, respectful, responsible, and resilient. This month we are focusing on being responsible and what that looks like at school. Talk with your children about how they can be responsible at home and at school.
Parent Teacher Conferences are on Thursday. It is very important to us that we speak to each of you about your child's growth at school this year. Please sign up for a schedule time if you have not done so already. Morenci Elementary: Spring Parent Teacher Conferences (signupgenius.com)
Reminder - Thursday and Friday are half days this week.
Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students compete in the County Science Olympiad this Tuesday. Good Luck teams! Can't wait to hear all about it when you return.
As always, thank you for your continued support in the education of your children. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or celebrations. Thank you, Mrs. Fink

A huge thanks to Morenci Elementary Parent Teacher Organization for making our day extra special! Their sponsorship brought Nelson the Animal Guy's Wildlife Safari to life, featuring barn owls, kangaroos, alligators, armadillos, tortoises, and snakes!
Our students had a blast learning about these amazing creatures and even got to touch them! This unforgettable experience served as a fantastic kickoff to our March is Reading Month activities! Thank you, Morenci Elementary PTO, for making learning so much fun!

Great Start Readiness Preschool Program
Morenci GSRP preschool still has spots open for the 2023-2024 school year. This unique preschool program, within our elementary school, offers our youngest students the opportunity to learn school routines, interact with their classmates, and participate in school activities. We are 5 days a week this year. A typical day includes school provided breakfast, lunch and snack, two outdoor recesses, a small group activity and large group activity, free choice time for 1 hour and an hour rest time each day.
To be eligible for the program, children must be four years old on or before December 1, 2023.
To begin the application process, please visit www.michiganpreschool.org to complete an online interest form. We are able to take more over income families now. Contact the elementary office if you have any questions.
VISION STATEMENT
Nurturing and promoting growth of Respectful, Responsible, and Resilient leaders.
MISSION STATEMENT
Acknowledging that each child is an individual, Morenci Elementary School strives to provide a safe and inviting environment for all children to belong and grow into respectful, responsible, and resilient leaders in our community. Together with the support of our families, we seek to nurture the whole child, by providing exceptional academics grounded in character, creativity, and collaboration. To ensure that all children will be empowered to reach their full potential we will…
Create a safe and nurturing environment for growth by sharing our enthusiasm for learning with students and colleagues.
Inspire children to become self-directed learners who are able to celebrate diversity and perform both collaboratively and independently as students of MES and beyond.
Challenge learners to take risks and foster a life-long love of learning by exposing them to aligned and evidence-based academics, social emotional learning, and extracurricular activities.
Work together as a Bulldog staff, family, and community to nurture the whole child and develop long lasting relationships.
