Alan Turing
Alan Turing was born on the 23rd June 1912 in London. He then later studied at Cambridge University in 1931 and was a British pioneering computer scientist, mathematician, logician, philosopher and a marathon runner.
World War 2
During the Second World War, Alan Turing worked for the Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park, England's code breaking centre. His main role was cracking intercepted coded messages.
After that...
After the war, Alan Turing worked at the National Physical Laboratory where he designed the ACE, one of the first designs for a stored-program computer. But sadly, on the 7th June 1954, Alan Turing died aged 41 from cyanide poisoning.
