The Odyssey
April 26,2024
From the Principal
Hello MQSCA Families-
This week marks the fifth week of Easter, and the Easter Season is almost coming to an end. On Sunday, the Gospel from John talks about the famous parable "I am the Vine". My favorite part of the parable is "I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit because without me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me will be thrown out like a branch and wither".
There is a lot of meaning packed into this passage, yet it is quite simple. In essence, we are called to follow Jesus and are entrusted with his mission of allowing him to be part of us. Trusting in God is harder than it seems, but it is emphasized throughout the Gospels and the New Testament.
For the second half of Easter, let us place our trust in God, for He will always be there for us. "Whoever remains in Me, and I in him will bear much fruit!"
We extend our heartfelt congratulations and sincere gratitude to our families for their remarkable contribution of over $1,700 towards the Wells in South Sudan. We are particularly thrilled to recognize our sixth-grade class for their exceptional leadership in this fundraising campaign! To celebrate this achievement, we are delighted to announce an all-school dress-down day on May 1, followed by a special treat of popsicles for the entire school at 2:15 pm. Additionally, we will be hosting a fun-filled dance party outdoors for all to enjoy!
In Christ-

Safe Enviroment Training
In order to be involved in any school activities, including chaperoning a field trip, coaching a sport, or volunteering in a classroom, you have to be safe environment trained. Below is the link to register for a training. No exceptions will be made, it is an archdiocesan mandate. If you plan to volunteer now, or in the future in any way, you MUST have attended a safe environment training. Please reach out to Simone Gaspar if you have questions about safe environment training, if you need to be trained, or if a new background check needs to be conducted. If you think you have been in safe environment training in the past, but are unsure, please double-check.
