Week of May 3rd
Principal Petrick Message
It's hard to believe we are in May of the most unique school year of all time. This week is National Teacher Appreciation Week. I'd like to thank our teachers and all our staff members for their resilience through so many changes this year. I'm fortunate to get to work with such a positive and committed group of people!
I'd also like to thank our Booster Club for their support of our teachers and staff. They have done many things to help our teachers and students this year and help make Farmington View feel like the special place that it is, even through the distancing of the Pandemic.
Have a great week!
Mr. Petrick

Teacher Appreciation Week - May 3rd - 7th
Let’s shower our Teachers and Staff with love and kindness!!
Monday May 3rd or Tuesday May 4th: Let’s decorate your cars with hearts for staff to see during drop off and pick up! Let’s show them love with a parade! It can be as simple as putting a single heart in the window or going all out! If you are at home then you can hold up a heart too or hold one up on the bus!
Wednesday May 4th: Wear your Teacher’s favorite color! Show up to meeting in a colorful way! Colors below
Thursday May 5th and Friday May 6th: Email a note to your Teacher or a Staff member telling them why you appreciate them. If coming to school then you can make them a special card! I am told that they love those!
We will also be treating them to snacks and treats throughout the week. If you would like to drop something off make sure to ring the bell, and someone will be there between 06:30-02:30. You are welcome to get it to Amy Tews who will be setting up the Staff lounge the Friday before! 971-221-0420

Vaccine Info for Washington County
Fentanyl Information from Washington County
FENTANYL WARNING
April 26. 2021 - We are learning from our Washington County partners and neighboring school districts that teen deaths from fentanyl-laced, illicitly-manufactured pills are surging across the country and in our region. Young people are purchasing what they think are OxyContin, Percocet or Xanax pills via social media, but what they are getting are fake pills containing the cheaper, stronger, and more deadly synthetic drug called fentanyl. Fentanyl is up to 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine. Fentanyl is odorless, tasteless and colorless. Teens never know what they’re getting, and one pill can kill them.
Safety is HSD’s top priority and we are working with our community partners to gather resources and put together a virtual information event in mid-June (specific date to be determined). Although no HSD students have died as a result of fentanyl-laced substances, we believe it is critically important to share information about the dangers of fentanyl with our students and families.
If you are interested in learning more, here is a video that shares the story of a Beaverton School District student who died from fentanyl poisoning in December 2020 and includes an interview with his parents. This video was recommended for viewing by the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Please look for information about the June event in upcoming communications.
Adding Students to Hybrid
We've also had some requests to have Hybrid students have more days at school. This will be an unlikely option but one that we will monitor as we move into May.
