First Saturday Series: Tech Rocks!
DUKE SCHOOL & TECHTERRA EDUCATION PRESENT......FIRST SATURDAY "TECH" SERIES!
On the first Saturday of March, April, and May, students will be able to explore coding, robotics, and/or drones on Duke School's campus! Classes are open to the public, ages 6 - 13. First Saturday Series Hours: 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Cost: $120 per session.
· March 4, 2017 - Coding: Introduction to coding and computer programming including visual block code, Scratch, and app and web-based games and resources.
· April 1, 2017 - Robotics: Explore robots and dive deep inot coding. Exploration and use includes Cubetto, Ozobots, Dash, Kamagami, Finch, Robolink, and Ollie robots.
· May 6, 2017 - Drones: Building and flying drones including safety, rules and laws, flight operations, and career readiness.

Camp TechTerra
Camp TechTerra helps students explore their world through science, technology, engineering, math, and the arts, honing students' creativity and developing competence and confidence. Taught by seasoned and enthusiastic teachers, the curriculum offers opportunities for students to:
- Learn to code using web-based and app-based programs
- Program robots and microcontrollers, learning to simulate, estimate, and model
- Learn to take photographs and videos using digital tools to create Digital stories
- Produce original creations with 3D printing
- Discover, use, and create with augmented and virtual reality
- Work in Make it - Take it Station, imagining, designing and creating
The TechTerra Education curriculum, inspired by Maker Education and Project Based Learning, was developed by Susan Wells, an international leader in mobile-integrated STEM education and veteran public school educator.
