Lansing Elementary Weekly Update
Newsletter for the Lansing Elementary School Family
April 13, 2024
Dear Families,
We were busy this week with several activities and events for Lansing Elementary School students and families. We were able to learn about eclipses this week and had the opportunity to observe an eclipse with our eclipse glasses. We also celebrated Assistant Principal Appreciation Day on Monday and some of our third grade students attending our field trip. On Tuesday, we had our Lansing Special Education Spring Fling at Lansing Intermediate School. We also had our 3rd grade Kansas State Math Assessments on Tuesday and Wednesday. We had our weekly late start collaboration time on Thursday and kindergarten round up Thursday evening and Friday morning.
This week, we will have no school for students on Monday. This is a staff professional development day. Tuesday-Friday will be Kansas State Assessment Make-ups. We will also have our weekly late start collaboration time on Thursday and our monthly PTA meeting this week. Doors will open at 6:00 and the meeting will begin at 6:30. Please consider attending our PTA meeting!
Our family class placement feedback form is now available. If you would like to provide input for your student's class placement, please complete this link by May 15th: https://forms.gle/TQGR3qpZRkkuWcJf8
If you have a student who will start kindergarten in August, please take a few minutes to complete our Ages & Stages Questionnaires. Ages & Stages 2: https://www.asqonline.com/family/edf88c AND Ages & Stages 3: https://www.asqonline.com/family/beaaa6 These questionnaires help us identify any students who may need additional supports as they transition into kindergarten.
Thank you for continuing to dress students in layers. The weather has been chilly in the mornings. Please keep sending students to school with a jacket and closed toe shoes.
We have received 362 Family Engagement Survey responses. Thank you for completing our survey! We use the results of this survey to determine how we are interacting with our community and in which areas we can improve. The winning class at each grade level by % of respondents will receive a prize. Please use this link to access our Family Engagement Survey and enter your student(s) for a prize: https://forms.gle/a54vjJ8A1WD7MtUy9
