Contact the CCC for FASFA Help
The new 2021–22 FAFSA form is here! Some states and schools have limited funds, so don’t delay! The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the form you need to fill out to get any financial aid from the federal government to help pay for college. Each year, over 13 million students who file the FAFSA get more than $120 billion in grants, work-study, and low-interest loans from the U.S. Department of Education.
Lots of states and colleges also use the FAFSA to determine which students get financial aid—and how much they’ll get.

Do you have Chromebook Coverage?
Anticipating that all students will get a district-owned device, the district adds a fee of $20 to students’ Online Payment accounts to enroll them in the Damage Loss Protection Program. This fee is waived for families who qualify for the free or reduced meal benefits program and have completed the Permission to Share Form. Students need to pay the assigned fee prior to any damage or loss claims to be eligible for the Protection Program coverage and no later than 30 days after they begin school.
If you decline coverage, you are assuming full responsibility for any costs due to damage, loss or theft. These costs could be as much as $300 per incident.

Student Accounts
Emails showing outstanding fees are being sent to families this week.
- Many students have requested the device coverage (Chromebook insurance) and have not yet paid the $20 fee. If you are eligible for free or reduced meals, and the fee is showing on your account, that means that you have not applied for meal benefits for the 20-21 school year, or failed to mark permission to share on your application. You must do that to get the insurance coverage at no charge.
- Fines for library materials and athletic gear can be cleared by returning the missing items to the school. Otherwise those fines need to be paid.
- Questions should be directed to heidi_mayes@beaverton.k12.or.us.
