What is i-Ready?
I-Ready allows your teacher(s) to meet your student exactly where they are and provides data to increase your student’s learning gains. i-Ready consists of two parts: Diagnostic and Personalized Instruction.
i-Ready consists of two parts: Diagnostic and Personalized Instruction. The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student's needs. i-Ready Personalized Instruction provides students with lessons based on their individual skill level and needs, so your student can learn at a pace that is just right for them.
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts questions to suit your student’s needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions.
I-Ready Personalized Instruction provides students with lessons based on their individual skill levels and needs, so your student can learn at a pace that is just right for them. These lessons are fun and interactive to keep your student engaged as they learn.
Testing Dates
This data will focus on their unique needs, regardless of their starting levels.
The Fall Assessment gives us a baseline level for each student. i-Ready generates two growth measures for every student:
1. Typical Growth: the average annual growth of students at each grade and placement level. Typical Growth allows you to see how a student grows compared to average student growth at the same grade and placement level.
2. Stretch Growth: the growth recommended to put below-grade level students on a path to proficiency and on-grade level students on a path to advanced proficiency levels. Students who further behind have larger growth benchmarks to catch them up, and it will likely take many students more than one year to achieve proficiency.
The Winter Diagnostic will be used to monitor students' progress towards their growth goals. It will also allow teachers to change support methods.
The Spring Diagnostic will show your students' growth for the full year, and we can determine if they met their target and stretch goals. This data is essential in determining student's placement for the next school year.
