Solar Eclipse Information
On our first day back from Spring Break, Monday, April 8, will be a solar eclipse. I'm sure you have heard a lot about this. We are going to give our students the opportunity to view this event. This week, we will send home permission slips that MUST be signed before our students will be able to participate. They will also have special solar eclipse sunglasses that must be worn. Please be on the lookout for the permission slip!
All Pro Dad Meeting!
Our very first All Pro Dad meeting this past week was a huge success! Thank you to the families that attended. We had a great discussion about courage. I hope we are able to see even more people at our next meeting, Thursday, April 11 at 7:45 AM.
Michigan City Area Schools Strategic Plan - Pillar 2
Pillar 2: Student Voice and Opportunities
It is important that our students' voices and choices are reflected in decisions that we make in the building and the district. In order to ensure this is happening, our key initiatives include:
- We will provide professional development for staff on incorporating student voice.
- We will create more academic and extracurricuar opportunities for students.
- We will seek student input and involvement in decisions that impact them.
A few ways that we have already seen the impact include:
- Coed volleyball for our 5th and 6th graders!
- Students are surveyed throughout the year on how they feel the year is going including do they feel included, welcomed, free to share ideas, and such.
These are just a few specific Springfield activities please know that the district as a whole is continuing to work on ways to encourage student voice and participation!
Bunny Hop
Reminder: We are excited to host our annual Bunny Hop this Thursday! Please turn in pledge forms by Wednesday, March 27 at 10:00 AM.
All students participate whether or not they participate in the fundraising part of the event. Students that do raise at least $5 will receive a special surprise!
