FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Paris Ridge Families,
We are ending the week on a bright, sunny note! Despite a little bit of rain during the week, students have enjoyed the spring weather and playing outside during recess. Monday is celebrated as “Earth Day.” Our lower elementary students are having a visit from a local author, Richard Schlatter, about a tree he cut down in his backyard. The story draws parallels between taking care of nature and the importance of friendships.
Wednesday and Thursday our 3rd graders will be taking the English Language Arts (ELA) portion of the MSTEP. We are encouraging them to make sure they get a good night of sleep beforehand, eat a healthy breakfast, and that all that matters is giving their best effort. We know they are ready and will do a fantastic job! The fourth grade will take their ELA assessment the following week.
Another reminder this week, please take an opportunity to see important information in the “From The District” portion of this newsletter. The first topic is “Transforming Michigan’s Internet Infrastructure Together” which pertains to connectivity needs we may have in our area. As input is provided by families to the State of Michigan, I would hate for our Paris Ridge families not to be represented in any future planning to support fast and reliable internet in our area. The information details how to challenge potential misrepresentations in this part of the county. The second topic pertains to the 5th grade Reproductive Health curriculum. Parents are encouraged to take a moment to look at the details surrounding the Reproductive Health curriculum.
Have a great weekend everyone!

At its April 15, 2024, meeting, the Caledonia Board of Education will be considering changes to the 5th grade Willing to Wait curriculum for reproductive health.
