Cultural Night
MAP Testing
Students will participate in MAP Testing this week and next week. They will leave their device in their homeroom the day before each test to charge. Please ensure your students gets a good night's sleep and comes to school prepared to show what they know.

Asheville Tourist Game
Students attending the Asheville Tourist game on Wednesday, May 1 should note the following:
- Students may bring money to purchase concessions or items from the team shop.
- Students may want to apply sunscreen at home and bring sunglasses and/or a hat. The weather should be sunny and upper 70s.
- Cell phones are allowed.
- Do not bring your backpack or outside food or drink.
- Lunch will be provided at the stadium.
- We will depart EMS at 8:30am and return at 2:30pm.
Teacher Appreciation Raffle
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10. To help us prepare to show our teachers some love, we're asking our EMS families and community members for items to be raffled each day. If you have a good, service, treat or gift card to contribute to our hard-working, dedicated, talented teachers, please reach out to our United Way representative, Allison Hughes: allison.hughes@unitedwayabc.org
Sports Physical Clinic
There will be a sports physical clinic on May 16th for anyone interested in playing sports next year at the middle or high school level. The cost is $15 (cash or check to Erwin Middle) and all of the money goes back to Erwin Middle Athletics. Physical packs are located in the office or can be printed at home by clicking this link. End of Year Testing
Students will participate in testing at the end of the school year on the following dates:
- Wed 5/29 - Science (8th grade only)
- Fri 5/31 - Reading
- Tues 6/4 - Math
On testing days, students may not sign out until the testing session is complete. Approximate completion times are 11:00 for Science and Reading, and 12:00 for Math.
8th Grade Dance
Mark your calendars for the 8th grade dance! Students should dress to impress for an evening of dancing with friends. In order to attend, students should have no OSS and fewer than 2 days of ISS from 4/22. The dance will be on Friday, June 7 from 6-9 pm. More to come!

Warrior Athletics
- Soccer will have 3 games this week. They will play at home on Monday the 29th with a 4:00 start time. They will travel to Enka Middle on Tuesday the 30th and travel to North Buncombe Middle on Thursday, May 2. Both of these games will start at 4:30.
- Baseball and Softball will have a 4:30 home game against North Buncombe on Thursday, May 2nd.
- Track will have their Conference Meet on Tuesday, April 30. It will be at TC Roberson High School beginning at 4:30. All track athletes are expected to be in attendance.
- Golf will have a match on Thursday, May 2 at Kenmure Country Club.
